The Group Executive Committee (GEC) comprises the members of the Management Board and senior representatives from the business divisions within the client-facing group divisions and from the management of the regions appointed by the Management Board. The GEC serves as a tool to coordinate the businesses and regions. It has, as its prime tasks and responsibilities, the provision of ongoing information to the Management Board on business developments and particular transactions, regular review of business segments, consultation with and furnishing advice to the Management Board on strategic decisions and preparation of decisions to be made by the Management Board.

Dr. Josef Ackermann is Chairman of the Management Board and the Group Executive Committee of Deutsche Bank. As Chief Executive Officer, he is responsible for Group Communications & Corporate Social Responsibility, Economics / DB Research and Group Audit.
He studied Economics and Social Sciences at the University of St. Gallen, and in 1977 – after obtaining his doctorate – joined Schweizerische Kreditanstalt SKA (today’s Credit Suisse). In 1990, Ackermann was appointed to the Executive Board of SKA, becoming its President in 1993.
In 1996, Ackermann joined the Management Board of Deutsche Bank, where he was responsible for the investment banking division. In 2002, he became Spokesman of the Management Board and Chairman of the Group Executive Committee. He was appointed Chairman of the Management Board on February 1, 2006. Under his leadership, the investment banking business became one of Deutsche Bank's principal sources of revenue, joining the top tier of global investment banks within a few years. From 2006 onwards, he pursued the expansion of “stable” businesses through targeted acquisitions and investments. Ackermann carried out a decisive step in further strengthening Deutsche Bank’s Private & Business Clients franchise through the accelerated takeover of Postbank in 2010.
Ackermann is a member of the Supervisory Board of Siemens AG (Second Deputy Chairman), a non-executive member of the Board of Directors of Royal Dutch Shell plc and a member of the Board of Directors of Zurich Financial Services Ltd (Vice Chairman). He also plays an active role in, among other things, the Institute of International Finance (Chairman of the Board of Directors), the World Economic Forum (Co-Chairman of the Foundation Board), the St. Gallen Foundation for International Studies (Chairman), the Goethe-Institute’s Business and Industry Advisory Board (Chairman), the Foundation Lindau Nobelprizewinners Meetings at Lake Constance (Honorary Senate member) and the Metropolitan Opera New York (Advisory Director). In 2007, Ackermann accepted an appointment as Visiting Professor in Finance at the London School of Economics. In July 2008, he was appointed Honorary Professor at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt. Furthermore, Ackermann is an Honorary Fellow of the London Business School and holds an Honorary Doctorate from the Democritus University of Thrace in Greece.

Dr. Hugo Bänziger is a member of the Management Board and the Group Executive Committee of Deutsche Bank since 2006. As Chief Risk Officer, he is responsible for Risk Management, Legal, Compliance, Corporate Governance, Corporate Security as well as Treasury.
After studying Modern History, Law and Economics at the University of Berne, where he earned his doctorate, he gained his first professional experience as assistant to the President of the Swiss Federal Banking Commission in Berne. In 1985, he moved to Credit Suisse and worked in leading management positions in Zürich and London. In 1996, he joined Deutsche Bank as Head of Global Markets Credit in London. In 2000, he was appointed Chief Credit Officer and has been Chief Risk Officer (Credit & Operational Risk) since 2004. In 2006, he became Chief Risk Officer and member of the Management Board and the Group Executive Committee.
Hugo Bänziger is a member of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Postbank AG, EUREX Clearing AG and EUREX Frankfurt AG as well as a member of the Board of Directors of EUREX Zürich AG.

Jürgen Fitschen is a member of Deutsche Bank's Management Board since 2009 and a member of the Group Executive Committee since 2002.
After completing commercial training in the wholesale and import/ export business, he studied economics and business administration at the University of Hamburg. He started his career in the corporate banking business at Citibank in 1975, ultimately serving as a member of the Management Committee, Germany.
After joining Deutsche Bank in 1987, Fitschen held executive positions in Thailand, Japan and Singapore, before becoming a member of the "Global Corporates and Institutions" Divisional Board in 1997, based in Frankfurt. A year later he joined the newly designed "Global Corporates and Institutions" division, based in London. In 2001 he was appointed to Deutsche Bank Group Board of Managing Directors where he was responsible for the "Corporate and Investment Bank".
Since 2002 Fitschen has been a member of the Group Executive Committee of Deutsche Bank. In 2005 he became Head of the newly established Regional Management worldwide and was appointed as CEO Germany, based in Frankfurt. As CEO Germany he is also Chairman of the Management Committee Germany. In these capacities Fitschen was appointed to Deutsche Bank Management Board in 2009.
Fitschen is a member of the Supervisory Boards of Metro AG and Schott AG as well as a member of the Board of Directors of Kuehne+Nagel International AG.

Anshu Jain has been a member of Deutsche Bank's Management Board since 2009 and the Group Executive Committee since 2002. He is Head of the Corporate & Investment Bank with responsibility for the Corporate Finance, Sales and Trading and Transaction Banking businesses.
Anshu Jain joined Deutsche Bank in 1995. He was previously a Managing Director at Merrill Lynch in New York where he founded and led the securities industry's first dedicated hedge fund client coverage group.
In addition to his Deutsche Bank commitments, Anshu Jain has served on working groups advising the Indian government on inward investment and the UK government on financial services.
He holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a BA in Economics from Delhi University.

Stefan Krause is a member of the Management Board and the Group Executive Committee of Deutsche Bank since 2008. As Chief Financial Officer he is responsible for Finance, Tax, Corporate Insurance, Investor Relations and Group Strategy & Planning.
Following his studies in Business Administration at the Julius Maximilian University of Würzburg, he gained his first professional experience in 1986/87 in Colombia, the country of his birth.
From 1987 to 2008, he worked in various management positions at BMW Group in Germany and the USA and was appointed member of its Board of Management in 2002. As a member of the Board of Management he held Group responsibility for accounting, tax, controlling, finance, organization and IT as well as business line responsibility for the financing business and BMW's IT company Softlab from 2002 to September 2007. From October 2007 until joining Deutsche Bank, he was the responsible Board member for Sales & Marketing at BMW.

Hermann-Josef Lamberti is a member of the Management Board since 1999 and Deutsche Bank's Group Executive Committee since 2002. As Chief Operating Officer he has global responsibility for Human Resources, Information Technology, Operations and Process Management, Building and Facilities Management as well as Purchasing. He joined Deutsche Bank in 1998 as an Executive Vice President, based in Frankfurt.
Hermann-Josef Lamberti began his professional career in 1982 with Touche Ross in Toronto and subsequently joined Chemical Bank in Frankfurt. From 1985 to 1998 he worked for IBM, initially in Germany in the areas Controlling, Internal Application Development and Sales Banks/Insurance Companies. In 1993, he was appointed General Manager of the Personal Software Division for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at IBM Europe in Paris. In 1995, he moved to IBM in the USA, where he was Vice President for Marketing and Brand Management. He returned to Germany in 1997 to take up the position of Chairman of the Management of IBM Germany in Stuttgart.
Lamberti studied Business Administration in Cologne and Dublin and graduated in 1982 with a master's degree in Business Administration. Since 2010 he holds an honorary doctorate of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of Frankfurt University.
Hermann-Josef Lamberti is a member of the Supervisory Board of Carl Zeiss AG, Deutsche Börse AG, BVV Versicherungsverein des Bankgewerbes a.G. und BVV Versorgungskasse des Bankgewerbes e.V. as well as a member of the Board of Directors of European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company EADS N.V.

Rainer Neske is a member of Deutsche Bank’s Management Board since 2009 and a member of the Group Executive Committee since 2003. He is responsible for Deutsche Bank’s Private & Business Clients division globally.
Rainer Neske joined Deutsche Bank’s IT division in 1990 and became member of the Transaction Services division’s management team in 1998. He moved on to new responsibilities in the bank’s Private & Business Clients division and was appointed as member of the Management Board of Deutsche Bank 24 AG (today: Deutsche Bank Privat- und Geschäftskunden AG) in 2000. One year later he became Deputy Spokesman.
Neske completed his studies in Computer Science and Business Administration in 1990 and holds the degree “Diplom-Informatiker” from Karlsruhe University.
Rainer Neske is Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Bank Privat- und Geschäftskunden AG as well as Deutsche Postbank AG and a member of the Advisory Board of Deutsche Vermögensberatung AG. He is also a member of the Management Board of Save the Children Deutschland e.V., a member of the Management Board of Gemeinnützige Hertie-Stiftung as well as a member of the Foundation Council of Frankfurt School of Finance & Management Stiftung.

Kevin Parker is a member of the Group Executive Committee of Deutsche Bank and Head of Asset Management since 2002.
After attending New York University, he joined Morgan Stanley where he was appointed head of the firm's equity derivatives business in Japan and Asia in 1988, based in Tokyo. He became a Managing Director in 1991 and held a variety of positions including Head of Asian Derivatives, Global Head of Equity Derivatives Trading and Chief Information Officer.
He joined Deutsche Bank in June of 1997. Prior to his current role at Deutsche Asset Management, he served as the Global Head of Institutional Equities from 2000 - 2004 and from 1997 - 2000 was responsible for building and developing Deutsche Bank's Equity Derivatives, Prime Brokerage Services, Equity Trading and Equity Proprietary Trading Businesses.
Among his roles outside the bank, he serves on the Executive Committee of the New York Police & Fire Widows' & Children's Benefit Fund, and is an Advisory Board Member of the New York Metropolitan Opera.

Robert Rankin is a member of Deutsche Bank's Group Executive Committee since January 2011. As Chief Executive Officer in Asia Pacific (ex-Japan), he is responsible for the Bank's management and strategic development in the region.
Robert Rankin joined Deutsche Bank in June 2009. He was previously a Managing Director and the Head of Investment Banking, Asia Pacific, at UBS where he had responsibility for the corporate/government advisory, debt and equity origination and M&A businesses in the region. He also served on the UBS Investment Bank Board.
Prior to joining UBS's predecessor firm in 1990, Robert Rankin was a securities and mergers and acquisitions lawyer at Blake Dawson Waldron in Sydney, Australia, where he also served as a member of the Australian Stock Exchange Listing Committee.
Rankin holds a Bachelors degree in Economics and Law from the University of Sydney.

Werner Steinmüller is a member of the Group Executive Committee since 2009, Head of Global Transaction Banking and a member of the CIB Executive Committee. He is responsible for leading the global efforts in Cash Management, Trust & Securities Services, Trade Finance and Risk Management Products.
Steinmüller studied at the University of Darmstadt and holds a master degree in mechanical engineering and business administration. From 1980 to 1991 he worked in various positions at Citibank in Germany at last as Head of Corporate Finance covering Germany.
In 1991, Werner Steinmüller joined Deutsche Bank as a Corporate Finance Director where he was responsible for the origination of all investment banking products and for the execution of ECM transactions for selected multinational companies. He served as Head of Corporate Relationship Management for Continental Europe in 1998 and prior to this he was Co-head of the Investment Banking Division for Germany. From 2003 to 2004, as Chief Operating Officer he was responsible for the Global Banking Division and Global Transaction Banking. In 2004, Steinmüller became Head of Global Transaction Banking.

Seth Waugh is a member of the Group Executive Committee since 2009 and Chief Executive Officer of Deutsche Bank Americas and Chairman of the Americas Executive Committee since 2002.
Seth Waugh joined Deutsche Bank in April 2000 as Regional Head of Global Markets and Equities and Vice Chairman of the Americas Executive Committee. He was appointed CEO of Corporate and Investment Banking in the Americas in 2001.
Before joining Deutsche Bank, Waugh was CEO of Quantitative Financial Strategies (QFS). Prior to his role at QFS, he spent 11 years at Merrill Lynch in a variety of capacities in the Fixed Income Division, most recently as Senior Vice President and Co-Head of Global Debt Markets. Earlier in his career, Waugh managed the Corporate Bond and International Trading desks at Salomon Brothers.
Waugh's industry positions have included board seats with SIFMA and The Clearing House. In addition, he is the Deutsche Bank Americas representative to the Financial Services Forum, an organization comprised of 20 CEOs from the largest and most diversified financial institutions in the United States and also serves on the Executive Committee of the Partnership for New York City.
A graduate of Amherst College, Seth earned dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics and English.

Pierre de Weck is a member of the Group Executive Committee and Head of Private Wealth Management since 2002.
He graduated with an Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich in 1973, and graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with an Master of Science in Management in 1976.
He joined Citicorp in 1976 and had several assignments in Switzerland and the USA. He joined UBS in 1985 and was CEO of UBS' North American operations from 1987 to 1992. In 1992, he became CEO of UBS' region Europe. In 1994 he was made a member of the Group Executive Board of UBS with divisional responsibility for the Global Corporate and Institutional Finance division. In 1998, subsequent to the merger of UBS with Swiss Bank Corporation, he became a member of the Group Executive Board of the merged entity until the middle of 2001. Pierre de Weck joined Deutsche Bank in April 2002.
Pierre de Weck is Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Sal. Oppenheim Group, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Deutsche Bank since March 2010.
