Telephone banking: The procedure for entering your access data has changed

To prevent money laundering, we are legally obliged to regularly ask you for your address details and the addresses of authorised representatives. You can conveniently update the data in online banking. Simply click on the corresponding menu item in the SelfServices section.

Yes, you can assign yourself a new 6-digit PIN in telephone banking at any time after logging in. Once you have successfully entered your telephone banking ID and telephone banking PIN, you will be informed of the current account balance. You will then be in the main menu. When asked to “Tell me how we can help you”, let us know your request with a short sentence, e.g. “I would like to change my telephone banking PIN”.

The 6-digit sequence should be entirely random and unrelated to you or your background (e.g. never choose birthdays or wedding anniversaries). Please note that for security reasons, ascending and descending series of digits such as 12345 and 98765 are rejected as PINs. Telephone banking PINs consisting of only one digit are also not permitted (e.g. 11111).

Both ways are correct. You can change your new access data with Postbank or Deutsche Bank. Important: Your new access data is valid for Deutsche Bank telephone banking as well as for Postbank telephone banking.

Yes. Telephone banking is always blocked for both access points. You therefore only need to block access once, either for Postbank or Deutsche Bank.

Deutsche Bank and Postbank telephone banking work the same since the update. Voice commands that you like to use in Postbank telephone banking can also be used for Deutsche Bank telephone banking since 25 May 2025.

Yes, this makes your access to Deutsche Bank telephone banking even more convenient. Since 25 May 2025, simply log in to Deutsche Bank telephone banking with your Postbank telephone banking ID and your Postbank telephone banking PIN.

Whether you use telephone banking to manage your Deutsche Bank accounts or your Postbank accounts depends solely on the telephone number you have dialled. Your Postbank telephone banking ID and PIN are valid for both accesses.

In rare cases, you may not be able to log in to Deutsche Bank telephone banking with your Postbank access data. If this happens, use the branch/account number you last used to log in to Deutsche Bank telephone banking and the corresponding 5-digit PIN.

The update makes your telephone banking more convenient – since 25 May 2025, you only need one access for all accounts authorised for telephone banking.

When dialling in from 25 May 2025, use the branch/customer number and authorised user number you last used to log in to telephone banking. This 12-digit sequence will remain your telephone banking ID in the future for all accounts that you have authorised for telephone banking.

After the update, you can manage all your accounts and authorisations for which you have agreed access to telephone banking using your telephone banking ID. Access is therefore no longer linked to the respective branch/customer number, but instead to your telephone banking ID. This is why the update also includes the switch to one ID.

After the update, the limit in telephone banking will be standardised at EUR 49,999.99 per day. To transfer larger sums, please use our online banking.

Since 25 May 2025 authorised representatives receive personal letters, for example with a PIN, directly to their own address. To ensure that these sensitive documents are always sent to the right person, each address must be stored correctly.

You can, of course, restrict or revoke any authorisation. The quickest way to do so is via online banking. Under Online SelfServices “Account” and then “Access authorisation ...” you will see the corresponding options. You can, of course, also revoke authorisations at the branch or by telephone.

You always issue a power of attorney for a specific branch/account number. The rights granted therefore apply to all accounts that you hold under this branch/account number.

It ensures that only the respective authorised representatives receive their personal access data, for example, for telephone banking. Each transaction can be assigned uniquely to one person. That also increases security with regard to potential misuse. Another benefit for you: You no longer need to make the letters or information available to the respective authorised representatives.
