Deutsche Bank secure e-mail

Deutsche Bank supports the encrypted exchange of e-mails over the Internet. To encrypt the e-mail traffic with your company the following two industry standards are supported:

S/MIME

S/MIME uses digital certificates to protect e-mails. Therefore a trusted digital certificate and S/MIME-compliant e-mail software, like Outlook or Thunderbird, are required. A digital certificate can be seen as digital identity card. It is issued by public certification authorities (CA) or by your company's own CA. The CAs accepted by Deutsche Bank includes most public CAs and the members of the European Bridge-CA.

Deutsche Bank Group staff has the S/MIME-compatible e-mail infrastructure and digital certificates at their disposal worldwide. If you would like to use S/MIME with Deutsche Bank, please ask your Deutsche Bank contact.

SMTP over TLS

SMTP over TLS (STARTTLS) uses transport-layer security to protect e-mail communication over the Internet. To enable this feature an individual arrangement is required between Deutsche Bank and each external business partner. If your organization would like to enable SMTP over TLS with Deutsche Bank, please ask your Deutsche Bank contact to request information on how to enable SMTP over TLS from his responsible Business Information Security Officer (BISO).

Establish secure e-mail between your company and Deutsche Bank to protect sensitive information. Deutsche Bank supports industry-standard solutions for e-mail protection.
