From 25 August 2025, you will benefit from the upgrade for online banking and Deutsche Bank app. You can look forward to simpler navigation and many new functions that will make your daily banking transactions even more convenient. We constantly update the site, so please keep visiting to stay up-to-date.

You have already received all the important information about the banking upgrade by post.

How to log in to your online banking and app for the first time

Please note: If you have installed the Deutsche Bank app, make sure you are using the latest version. If updates are deactivated, you can update the Deutsche Bank app via the App or Play Store.              

For your first login, you need an active PhotoTAN procedure and your 5-digit PIN. From 25 August, you will be able to simply reset your PIN yourself. To do so, click on “Forgotten your credentials?” on the login page and follow the instructions under “Reset PIN/password”.

In order to provide you with the right instructions, it is crucial for us to know how you use our online banking. Select the description that applies to you:

New: You can set your own credentials

After logging in for the first time, you will still be able to use your branch/account number and your PIN to log in. Your branch/account number is now your Deutsche Bank ID and your PIN is your password.

In contrast to the branch/customer number, the Deutsche Bank ID is not linked to individual accounts, but is uniquely assigned to you as an individual. This means that after logging in, you can also see accounts for which you are an authorised signatory.

You can also change your ID and password at any time: in the app and in the online banking of Deutsche Bank or Postbank.

New: Your Deutsche Bank ID and password

When you log in for the first time, you choose your Deutsche Bank ID and password. These credentials replace the branch/customer number and PIN. Alternatively, you can choose new credentials – as your Deutsche Bank ID.

The Deutsche Bank ID is not linked to individual accounts, but is assigned to you as an individual. This means that after logging in, you will also see accounts for which you are authorised or an authorised signatory. You can hide distracting accounts in the financial overview or exclude them from the balance calculation.

    Enter your ID that you also use for Postbank online banking and app.

    Once you have entered your Postbank password, your new access data will be complete.

    As a last step, confirm your entries with photoTAN or photoTAN push.

New: Your ID and your password

The login details you also use for Postbank online banking replace your branch/customer number and PIN. Your ID is not linked to individual Deutsche Bank accounts, but to you as a person. This means that after logging in, you will also see Deutsche Bank accounts for which you have power of attorney or authorisation. In the financial overview, you can hide accounts or exclude them from the balance calculation.

Security procedures for the new online banking

photoTAN

If you have been using the photoTAN procedure for your banking, you can continue to approve your orders with photoTAN and photoTAN push. When you switch to a different smartphone, your new security procedure will automatically be BestSign.

BestSign

With the upgrade of our banking services, we are offering you a new security procedure: BestSign. BestSign is a security technology that meets the highest standards. It ensures that you are broadly protected when banking online.

To use it, you connect your banking in the browser or app to the BestSign procedure. With this procedure, you approve your orders with a digital signature. It's simple, secure and fast. You can use BestSign in the Deutsche Bank app on your smartphone, tablet or even as an external device.

In addition to clear navigation, your future banking will offer you many new functions that will make your daily banking transactions even more convenient.

Individually adjustable total balance

You can customise the financial overview. You decide which accounts you want to see in the financial overview and which you do not.

More accounts at a glance

After logging in with your Deutsche Bank ID, you will see all products in the financial overview, such as current account, security account, loan or investments. Accounts for which you are authorised to represent are also displayed.

More Online Services

With more than 50 online services, you will be able to do almost everything related to your banking transactions from your PC or smartphone: Change your address or the credit limit, create new authorised persons and much more.
